When you embark on a journey with Prydwen, batten down the hatches, you’re in for a ride! This international touring band is a blast of fresh air whose folk celt roots rock sounds will have you kicking up your boots.

At centre stage a flying fiddle wails the blues and ignites a reel. Add to that powerful charismatic vocals, an air-borne double bass, masterful percussion, dynamic guitars, and you’ve got a show that is quite simply not to be missed!

Formed in 1997 by a group of already accomplished, welltravelled musicians, Prydwen began performing at festivals, halls, house concerts, folk clubs and pubs across Canada, the western United States, and Scotland. Their enthusiasm and energy captivates audiences of all ages as they fly through high-powered fiddle frenzies, new spins on old favorites, and a fantastic collection of original songs and instrumentals that’ll have you humming!

At home on any stage, be it an intimate acoustic house concert, or fully wired, fully drum-setted, mainstage spectacle, Prydwen will have audiences cheering for more!

Prydwen is extremely versatile in the types of performances they are able to offer. Different environments and audiences require distinct and specific shows. Prydwen is available as a duo, trio, quartet or full five-piece ensemble.

Here’s a few examples:

One or two sets of music, each approximately 50 minutes in length

Up to four sets of music, each approximately 50 minutes in length. Can be geared to mainly original Prydwen music, or towards singalong “pub-style” favorites and cover

One to four sets of event specific repetoire. Anything from wedding receptions, community dances, to corporate functions and incredibly fun house concerts!

One 50 minute performance with a question and answer period for elementary schools or high schools.

Prydwen’s members have all individually and as a group hosted and participated in dozens of festival workshops with various themes such as songwriting, celtic fiddling,
improvisation workshops, percussion and others. Individual fiddle lessons in celtic, country and Suzuki-based classical styles are taught by Jennie Bice in Mission B.C.
